Cookeville police say they have made an arrest in the robberies that occurred at the Community Bank on S. Willow Ave. Saturday morning and at the US Bank on Washington Ave. Monday morning. Police captain Nathan Honeycutt says investigators received information that implicated 26-year-old William Ray Hagood of Fisk Road as a suspect in the hold-ups. He says they located Hagood on Wednesday afternoon and, after further investigation, he was arrested and charged with two counts of robbery. He was booked into the Putnam County jail and his bond set at $100,000. Honeycutt says the FBI, the TBI, the Putnam County Sheriff's Department and the U.S. Marshal's Task Force assisted in the investsigation, which he says is not over yet. He asks anyone with information related to the robberies to call Crimestoppers at 520-7867.
