The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association voted Wednesday during its Board of Control meeting to move the annual BlueCross Bowl to Cookeville for the 2009 and 2010 seasons. The championship games will be played at Tennessee Tech's Tucker Stadium.
Chattanooga, Cookeville, and Murfreesboro were the three cities in the running for the event, with each giving a 30-minute presentation to the board on Wednesday afternoon. Cookeville's bid, which was reportedly around $250,000, received five votes, while Chattanooga and Murfeesboro received two votes apiece. Murfreesboro has hosted the games at Middle Tennessee State University since 2000, but the city reportedly offered the minimum bid this year.
