Counterfeiting Case Linked to Algood Man
Police say an Algood man has been arrested in connection with the illegal printing of counterfeit money. 26-year-old Johnathon Lamont Woods of Lane Drive is also charged with burglary in a separate case. According to reports, Cookeville police went to a home on Coffelt Avenue Monday night after receiving a call that someone was inside that residence illegally. That person turned out to be Woods, who was charged with burglary. Upon searching him, police allegedly turned up several counterfeit bills that they believe he had manufactured using a computer printer. Federal officials will be pursuing that case, but the burglary charge and one alleging "criminal simulation" will be tried in state court. Woods was jailed under $15,000 bond.
