Sexual Assault Investigated
A Putnam County teenager, who slipped out of the house to meet a boy, ended up as the victim of an apparent sexual assault, according to the sheriff's department. Deputy David Blackwell says the assault apparently happened at Ensor Park about 1 am Tuesday after the girl decided to meet a boy she had been texting for a couple of days. That boy showed up with a friend and the three were driving around the area for about fifteen minutes when they stopped the car, the passenger got out, and the driver climbed into the back seat with her, pushed her down in the seat and began putting his hands on her. She says he covered her mouth when she tried to scream, but she kept pushing him away and after a few minutes, the passenger returned and told the driver to stop. The two then left the victim at Ensor Park as they drove away. She called a friend who then called police.
