Alleged Paint Huffer Facing Charges

Cookeville police, answering a complaint about a reckless driver, have charged a man with the crime of "inhaling paint for the unlawful purpose of causing a condition of intoxication." The charge was placed against 31-year-old Bryan W. Cole of Byrne Avenue after another motorist complained about his driving and reported that he appeared to be inhaling something from a bag. Officer Cary Matheney located Cole's vehicle, saw that it was weaving and also saw that Cole was not wearing a seat belt. The officer says he found Cole with an aerosol can of Krylon Gold paint and a plastic bag filled with fresh gold paint. Cole allegedly admitted to huffing paint because of a previous addiction to meth. He goes to court on the charges September 14th.
