Cab Driver Robbed At Gunpoint

Cookeville police detectives are investigating a case of armed robbery. A local cab driver says he was washing his vehicle about four o'clock in the morning at an automated car wash on South Willow Avenue when he was approached by two men who asked for directions. When the victim put down the spray hose to hear them better, they reportedly shoved him against a wall and demanded money. The man says he felt a gun pointed at his head and heard a clicking noise. The robbers took $80 in cash from the victim and fled the scene on foot. They were described as black males, one wearing a white shirt and baggy, striped shorts; the other wearing a red bandana, white shirt and black pants. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crimestoppers at 520-7867.
