First School Day Produces A Few Glitches

There were just a few glitches as the Putnam County school system welcomed students on Monday for the start of the 2009-2010 school year. Schools Director Dr. Kathleen Airhart says a couple of schools had issues with their air-conditioning -- even on the two hour day. And she says that the parking lot for Jere Whitson School remains unpaved because of issues with the soil conditions. But officials hope to address those problems, especially the air-conditioning, before the children head back to class tomorrow for the first full day. The paving issue may take a bit longer to resolve.
