Man Robbed of Video Games
Robbery charges have been brought against two Cookeville residents who allegedly admitted to stealing video games from a man who was walking down Willow Avenue Tuesday night. Police say 28-year-old Michele Lee Coburn and 21-year-old Darren Roy Warren Jr., of Lee Seminary Road, were arrested after the victim called police and gave dispatchers their names. The man who was robbed says he was walking down the street about 6 pm when Coburn and Warren approached him and tried to take four XBox video games he had in his backpack. When he resisted, they allegedly started hitting and kicking him, ultimately taking the games before driving off. They were stopped and taken into custody by Officer Mitch Harrington, who passed the suspects as he was on his way to the scene.
