Public Defender Appointed for Kidnapping Suspect

The Public Defender's office has been appointed to represent a Cookeville man, charged with agggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault. Police say 60-year-old Gary Randall Moser of Battlefield Drive was arrested after his girlfriend accused him of holding her hostage and beating her. She apparently talked him into allowing her to leave at one point last week and she drove up to an officer who was parked on South Jefferson Avenue. That officer, Donna Revis, noticed
that the victim had a large knot on her forehead and had bruising around her eyes and on her arms. Moser was booked into the jail under a total bond of $50,000. He goes back to court on September 9th.
