Tutco Adding Local Production Line

Cookeville-based Tutco, Inc., expects to complete the moving of a production line from Illinois to its Putnam County factory by the end of the year. That word today from the website PlasticsNews.com, which says Tutco is moving production of its heating elements and sensors to Cookeville. Tutco regional sales manager Nick Marocchi said his firm is making the move to keep costs down by using extra space. So far, cartridge band and strip heaters have been moved. Next will be thermocouples, temperature sensors and hot runners and components. Tutco has Underwriters Laboratories testing facilities here in Cookeville. They entered the plastics industry through its purchase of the former Fast Heat business. In addition to plastics, Tutco designs and makes heating components for refrigeration, heating, venting and air conditioning, laboratory equipment and other markets.
