Volunteer Fireman Suspended After Being Arrested
An August 16th court date has been set for a Putnam County volunteer firefighter who has been charged by Monterey Police with stealing a chainsaw from a fire department substation in 2006. 32-year-old Jonathon Shannon Sisco of Andy Lane is charged with theft of property and filing a false report. He has also been suspended from the department. According to police, Sisco reported the chainsaw missing from the Monterey substation in March of 2006. Then in July, according to authorities, Sisco called a man and met him in the Save-A-Lot parking lot and tried to sell him the chainsaw. The county's Volunteer Fire Department collected Sisco’s firefighter equipment, which included keys to the Monterey and Brotherton substations, and Fire Chief Daryl Blair says he will let the situation work its way through the court system.
