Fire Victim's ID Confirmed

An autopsy has now confirmed that the man killed in a fire in Algood this week was, in fact, Bruce Baranowski. The 55-year-old Baranowski perished in a blaze that started in a small log cabin that he had constructed behind his home at 3305 Mirandy Road. Authorities say the fire was discovered about 6 am Tuesday by a passerby who called 911. They say Baranowski's family was asleep in the main house and was not aware of the blaze until firefighters arrived on the scene. They also note that Baranowski was, himself, a volunteer for the Algood Fire Department. His funeral will be held Saturday at First Baptist Church in Cookeville.
