Mental Evaluation Ordered for Trespasser

A $500-thousand dollar bond has been set for a Rutherford County man charged with criminal trespassing. Police claim that 32-year-old Matthew Titus Clark of Lascassas trespassed a number of times at a Cookeville business where he once worked. According to authorities, Clark was arrested last week when he showed up once again at the Averitt Express building on Neal Street. Officials say Clark had first been charged with trespassing back in April, but was told that the charge would be dismissed if he stayed out of trouble for six months. Apparently, he did not. Court officials say a restraining order was issued in June and prosecutors claim that Clark was carrying a "last will and testament" with him when he showed up at the business last week. Judge John Hudson set the high bond for Clark and ordered him to undergo a mental evaluation.
