Quick Change Scams Being Reported

There's been an uptick this week in reports of people being scammed by quick change artists. In one case, a Cookeville cab driver agreed to make change for a one hundred dollar bill -- only to find out that the bill he was given was a one-dollar bill which had been taped in one corner with part of a one-hundred dollar bill. Cookeville resident Dustin O'Brien Cash is facing charges in that case. In the other case, a man who had purchased a few cookies at the Subway restaurant on Jefferson Avenue started to pay with a twenty dollar bill, but then kept changing his mind and exchanging money with the cashier who later figured out that the man had gotten away with forty dollars of the store's money.
