Record Enrollment Posted At Tennessee Tech

Enrollment has climbed to a record high for the ninth consecutive year at Tennessee Tech University, with a final headcount census of 10,857 students. Officials say that not only are there more students than ever enrolled, those students are taking more hours than before, bringing the full-time equivalent enrollment, or FTE, to an all-time high of 9,060, a 5.7 percent increase over last year. Bobby Hodum, TTU’s executive director of enrollment management, says both record-setting numbers reflect the university’s efforts to put more emphasis on recruiting and retaining full-time students. This year’s freshman class of 1,893 is the largest ever to join Tennessee Tech, breaking the previous record by more than 200 students and marking a 13 percent increase. Transfer student applications took a 14 percent increase and international student applications are up as well.
