Cookeville Native Highlighted on Army's website
A Cookeville native, who is serving in the Army National Guard, has been highlighted for his work in "keeping northern Iraq aviation moving." Cookeville's Sergeant David Roach, a 29 year-old mechanic and truck driver, with Troop G of Tennessee Army National Guard, 1st Battalion, 230th Air Cavalry Squadron is shown conducting early morning pre-combat checks and inspections on a Mine Resistant, Ambush Protective up-armored fighting vehicle before that vehicle deployed on a Combat Logistics Patrol from Forward Operating Base Sykes in Tall Afar, Iraq. The photo was taken by Staff Sgt. Mike Alberts and is featured on the Army's website.
