Drug Charges Filed In Separate Cases

Two separate investigations have led to drug charges being filed against two Putnam County men. Police say 23-year-old Joshua Shane Barber of Freehill Road, Cookeville, was charged with possession of a controlled substance after Officer Chris Melton made an investigation at the Walmart store. Allegedly, Barber was in a checkout line at the store and had 12 Oxycodone pills, in his pocket, along with $1,787 in cash. Meanwhile, 24-year-old Daniel Adam Boyce of Silver Point was charged with possession of marijuana for resale after police discovered the drugs during a traffic stop. He was also charged with illegally carrying a weapon. Boyce allegedly had three bags and two plastic containers of marijuana, and police say a fully loaded Glock handgun was on top of the container.
