The Cookeville police department has issued the following press release:
At approximately 7:20 am on December 2, 2009, officers were dispatched to the area of 12th Street and Willow Avenue to investigate what had been reported as a car-jacking. Upon arrival, officers learned that a robbery had occurred at an apartment complex on Carolina Avenue in which multiple suspects, armed with a handgun, attempted to rob two victims of cash. Unable to obtain any money, the suspects demanded and obtained the keys to one of the victim’s vehicle. The suspects fled in multiple vehicles, including the victim’s Dodge Neon.
The investigation resulted in locating the suspects at a residence north of Cookeville. Because of the danger involved in these types of arrests, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department’s SWAT team was used to apprehend the suspects at this residence.
Arrested were: Patti J Hall, age 21, of Cookeville; Keith P Doherty, age 20, of Cookeville, and James T Tabor, age 18, of Cookeville. All three are charged with Aggravated Robbery and are jailed with a $25,000 bond. Ms. Hall is currently out on bond for a previous Aggravated Assault charge that was lodged November 3, 2009. Mr. Doherty was released from the Charles B. Bass State Correctional complex in early 2008. Capiases already existed for the arrest of Mr. Doherty and Mr. Tabor.
