Drug Addiction Suspected In Theft Case
Drugs and thievery are connected in several cases under investigation today by local authorities. A man on Dixon Lane told the sheriff's department that someone took several power tools from his property. The victim says he believes it was his daughter, who then sold the tools in exchange for drugs. Meanwhile, a man caught shoplifting at the Hill's IGA store Saturday is also facing drug charges. Police say 27-year-old Cassidy Lee Matheney of Milk Barn Lane was allegedly caught trying to steal four Bic lighters from the store. A search of Matheney allegedly turned up 21 Xanax pills and a blue metal pill container. He was issued two citations in lieu of arrest.
