Health Department Offering Free Vaccinations

Putnam County Health Department officials say that they will be offering free childhood vaccinations this week as part of National Public Health Week. The shots will be offered Monday through Friday from one o'clock until 4:30 in the afternoon. No appointment is necessary. Officials say Tennessee has introduced new immunization requirements for children who attend child care, pre-school and regular school. They are also requiring a new official state of Tennessee certificate of immunization for all children starting pre-school, Kindergarten and 7th grade this fall. For more information, call 528-2531.
