A Baxter man has been charged with promotion of methamphetamine manufacture, reportedly after his mother called the sheriff's department to report him. Deputy Jamie Hunter says the two share a residence on Highland Avenue in Baxter and says the mother found there syringes in the home this week. That's when she called authorities to do a more thorough search of the home. That search, Hunter says, turned up a backpack containing a number of items generally associated with the manufacture of meth -- including a turkey baster, drain cleaner, charcoal lighter fluid, paper filters and a first aid kit that contained PH testing material. 30-year-old Clay Brandon Sherrell returned home during the search and was taken to the jail where his bond was set at $20,000 dollars. He has a court date of April 26th.
