Spray Paint Vandals Hit Several Businesses

Local law enforcement officials continue to deal with spray paint vandals around the Cookeville area. Officer Ronnie Franklin responded to a construction site on East 10th Street Monday night to find that someone had spray-painted both a swastika and a peace sign on some equipment there. They also sprayed some obscene words in black paint and tossed rocks threw the windows of a front end loader. Meanwhile, pink spray paint was used to vandalize the outside wall at the Leslie Town Center. Police say the same kind of paint was used on the walls at Phoenix USA. They say the graffiti did not appear to be "gang-related."
