STEM Center Grand Opening Scheduled
Two years of anticipation will end in celebration this Friday as Tennessee Tech University’s Ray Morris Hall, home of the Millard Oakley STEM Center, opens with ceremonies and self-guided tours University officials will join STEM Center benefactors Ray Morris and Millard Oakley, NASA astronaut and TTU alumnus Barry Wilmore, and state and local dignitaries, in an afternoon grand opening ceremony, which will take place in the facility’s auditorium. U.S. Representatives Bart Gordon and Lincoln Davis, along with former U.S. Senator Jim Sasser, will attend. The event begins on Friday afternoon at 1:30. The STEM Center is a campus-wide initiative to support the teaching and learning of science, technology, engineering and mathematics related fields. Officials say success in these subjects requires collaboration and innovation at all levels - from pre-school through college.
