Burglar Arrested For Stealing Cigarettes
A Georgia man has been charged with burglary and evading arrest after allegedly breaking into the Smoke Station shop on North Washington and trying to steal three cartons of cigarettes. Police say they were watching as 27-year-old James Andrew Allen of Valdosta, Georgia, rode up on a bicycle, circled the business several times, then entered the store and came out with the stolen merchandise. Police were watching the business because the same store had been victimized by a burglary a few days ago. Someone reportedly broke out the front door glass, but was scared away by an alarm. Authorities say Allen allegedly took off when Officer Anthony Reep tried to stop him, but he was "apprehended by a police K-9,"
