Authorities Awaiting Autopsy Results In Two Deaths

Authorities in Putnam County are awaiting autopsy results in their attempt to determine what caused two apparently unrelated deaths on Sunday. A 44-year-old Cookeville man was found dead in his apartment -- possibly from a fall, while a 34-year-old Monterey woman was found dead in her home on Jim Garrett Road. The sheriff's department would not comment on what may have caused her death. Police say the woman -- identified as Amy Mayberry Lewis -- was found by her husband around 5:30 pm Sunday. They have not said foul play is suspected, but have also not ruled it out. The man was identified as Neil Allen Bresett of Clover Avenue. His body was found by his mother about 6:15 pm Sunday. Police say he had suffered an apparently fatal head wound.
