Cookeville Police Respond To Increase In Robberies

In light of the recent armed robberies that have occurred in other cities in Tennessee, the Cookeville Police Department this month is hosting a workshop entitled AFTER DARK. This program is designed to help management and employees of “high risk” businesses by educating them in ways that will help reduce their risk of becoming victims of violent crime. Topics that will be covered include Physical Plant Security, Hiring Practices, Business Procedures, and Reaction to In-Progress Crime. The police department’s response will also be addressed during the workshop. The AFTER DARK program will be presented on August 12th at 6:30 p.m. and will last approximately two hours. The workshop will be held in the Cookeville Gas Department’s classroom located at 16 North Oak Street in Cookeville. To register for this free program, you can call 520-5331.
