Cookeville Soldiers Arrive Home From Iraq

Sixty soldiers from Cookeville were among those arriving Sunday as part of the most recent return of troops affiliated with the 278th Armored Cavalry regiment. The soldiers had been undergoing out-processing at Camp Shelby, Mississippi, and completed their out-processing in Smyrna on Sunday, before being transported by bus to the local armory. The 278th Regiment of approximately 3,400 soldiers mobilized in December of 2009, and is coming home from Iraq six months earlier than expected.
