Third Annual TTU Piano Competition Planned

The school year has just gotten underway, but plans are already being made for the third annual Tennessee Tech University Young Artist Piano Competition. The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 9, in Wattenbarger Auditorium located in the Bryan Fine Arts Building. The winner will receive the Herman Godes Award and $1,000; the runner-up will receive the S.K. Ballal Award and $500. A teacherʼs letter of reference must accompany the application as well as a $25 registration fee. The application is available online. Organizer Catherine Godes, director of piano studies at TTU, said she encouraged all serious and dedicated high school pianists to participate. The deadline for application is Sept. 17.
