Alleged Car Burglar Caught In The Act

A White County is facing charges of burglary today after allegedly being caught stealing a wallet from a vehicle which was parked at the Cookeville Goodwill store. The victim says he had left his vehicle unlocked by the loading dock, but noticed someone leaning into an open window. He confronted the man, identified as 26-year-old Randy Lynn Denton of Franks Ferry Road in Walling, Tennessee. Denton reportedly told the truck's owner that he was simply looking to see whether the vehicle was for sale and how many miles were on the odometer. He then went into the Goodwill store. But the victim told police he saw Denton hand something to an accomplice and later found that the center console on his vehicle had been opened and his wallet stolen. Police located Denton inside the store and arrested him for burglary, but say they did not recover the wallet.
