Children's Advocacy Center Hosts Open House

The Upper Cumberland Child Advocacy Center is inviting the public to visit and tour their new location at 708 E. 10th St. in Cookeville.

“We are having a good year at the Child Advocacy Center,” said Jennifer Wilkerson, Executive Director of the UCCAC. “We’ve received our accreditation and have a great new space from which to serve our public.”

The Center will be opening their doors to the public for tours during their open house on September 13th from 2 to 6 pm. They hope to show off their new building and all of their recent accomplishments.

The Upper Cumberland Child Advocacy Center treats children and families who are victims of sexual and physical abuse and acts as a resource available to hospitals and physicians in providing medical and psychological evaluations and related services for these children and their families. They opened their center in Cookeville in 2004, and have been working with approximately 1000 children each year from the counties of Putnam, White, Cumberland, DeKalb Overton, Clay and Pickett. For more information on the Center, you can call 854-0115.
