Final Touches Being Put On Cookeville Fall Fest

Now that the long holiday is over, Cookeville city officials are gearing up for their celebration of the 15th annual Fall Funfest, which this year will include the inaugural Main Street Cornhole Competition -- scheduled for Saturday, September 11th beginning at 10 am. Organizers say the competition should wind up with a winner's ceremony around three o'clock Saturday, and there will also be boards available for the uninitiated to try their hand at the game. Also on Saturday, the Funfest will pause for a ceremony remember the victims of 9/11. Meanwhile, more than 30 barbeque teams from eleven states will compete for the title of Tennessee State Champion in the 21st annual Cookeville Cook Off, which begins on Friday night. WCTE's Annual Stations of Imagination will celebrate "living green" in the Upper Cumberland. And TTU will be coordinating the skate park and the inflatable activities for kids at the Funfest again this year. They still need volunteers.
