Habitual Driving Offender Arrested Again For DUI

A man who police say has been declared a habitual driving offender has once again been arrested for DUI. Police say 31-year-old William M. Bilyeu Jr. of Edgefield Court was charged after Sgt. Steve Taylor noticed him weaving in the roadway along South Jefferson Avenue. Bilyeu allegedly failed three field sobriety tests, but refused to submit to a test to determine his blood alcohol content. Taylor says a computer check revealed that Bilyeu had been arrested five times in the past for driving under the influence. Meanwhile, in a separate case, police say a Sparta woman is facing charges of fifth offense DUI after being stopped by police over the weekend. Authorities allege that 51-year-old Virginia Irene Bolden was asleep at the wheel with the motor still running when they investigated complaints of a drunk driver. They say she has previous convictions in 2002, 2001, 1995, 1993, and 1989.
