The Cookeville Police Department's Crimestoppers program is now asking for the public's help in solving a case of bank robbery. Police say a masked man with a gun held up the Tennessee Credit Union on South Walnut Avenue last Friday about two o'clock in the afternoon. He reportedly got away with some $3,500 after threatening a clerk there and telling her he wanted "tens, twenties and hundreds" put into three bank bags he was carrying. The suspect is described as a white male in his mid 30s, about five feet, seven inches tall. He appeared to have blond hair. Anyone with information that may help authorities can call Crimestoppers at 520-STOP. A photo taken from the credit union's surveillance camera is shown at the left.
