2nd Armed Robbery Reported At Hispanic Business

For the second time in as many weeks, Cookeville police are investigating the armed robbery of a local business, owned by Hispanics.  This time, it happened at Guatamex Convenience Store on North Washington Avenue about 7:45 Wednesday night. Police say two men wearing hooded jackets brought some merchandise up to the counter, but pulled out guns at the employees began to ring things up.  They ordered the workers to the ground, removed money from the register, and then left -- apparently on foot.  The report was similar to the robbery of Tienda Los Angeles store on North Washington Avenue last week in that the suspects were described as Hispanic, but were not known to the victims. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
