Alcohol Board Schedules Several Meetings
Cookeville's alcoholic beverage control board has now scheduled several more meetings over the next several weeks as they attempt to work through both the applications for package liquor stores and the businesses in town, whose permits to sell beer may be in jeopardy because their clerks allowed the sale of alcohol to someone under the age of 21. Police say more than a dozen businesses were caught during a recent check. City clerk Cathy McClain says the board, at this point, is scheduled to meet at 6 pm on March 22nd, April 4th and April 18th. They also have a work session scheduled for next Monday.
