Arraignment Set For Murder Suspect

Authorities say a Cookeville man, indicted on charges of murder, will be arraigned in criminal court on March 22nd.  27-year-old Chevy Lee Kinnaird of Zion Road is accused of killing 48-year-old Greg Williams as Williams sat on the porch of his home on Cookeville Boat Dock Road last year.  According to the indictments, the motive in the case was robbery.  Kinnaird was already in jail on other charges when the grand jury indictments for first degree murder, felony murder and robbery were served on him this week. Police say the victim had been shot to death in July of last year, and they have been investigating the case ever since.  In what may be a related incident, Kinnaird was also charged with forgery for passing a fake check at a Cookeville grocery store last July. Police say he had originally been picked up this week for failing to appear in court on another case.
