Dogwood Park Tree Bids To Be Considered
A number of projects around Cookeville, which have been awaiting funding, may get the go-ahead Thursday night as the city council considers a number of bids. Among other things, the council will be awarding a bid for trees that are to be planted in the city's Dogwood Park. They'll consider awarding a bid for rehabilitation and repainting of the Shoney’s two million gallon water storage tank. That bid will also include abatement of the lead paint that is currently on the tank. They'll also discuss bids for an intersection improvement, a gas line project, decorative LED lights, and new vehicles. The council is also scheduled to give a final OK to new taxi cab regulations and to set a date for a public hearing on regulations concerning Bed and Breakfast establishments. The meeting begins at 5:30 pm in the council chambers at Cookeville city hall.
